{"id":817,"date":"2022-07-27T08:00:23","date_gmt":"2022-07-27T12:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diagnostyka-umyslu.pl\/blog\/?p=817"},"modified":"2022-08-01T13:18:57","modified_gmt":"2022-08-01T17:18:57","slug":"types-and-kinds-of-dyslexia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mind-test.org\/blog\/dyslexia\/types-and-kinds-of-dyslexia\/","title":{"rendered":"Types and kinds of dyslexia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>There are the following varieties of developmental dyslexia:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>dyslexia<\/strong> (difficulties in reading fluently, often combined with difficulties in writing),<\/li>\n<li><strong>dysgraphia<\/strong> (distortions of the graphic side of writing),<\/li>\n<li><strong>dysortography<\/strong> (difficulty mastering correct spelling despite knowing the rules of spelling),<\/li>\n<li><strong>dysphonia<\/strong> (unclear and silent speech),<\/li>\n<li><strong>dyscalculia<\/strong> (specific difficulties in solving mathematical tasks),<\/li>\n<li><strong>hyperdyslexia<\/strong> (difficulties in reading comprehension).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Types and types of dyslexia<\/h4>\n<p>Taking into account the aetiology of the disorder in question, a distinction is made between developmental and acquired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mind-test.org\/dyslexia-test\">dyslexia<\/a>. Developmental dyslexia is related to disturbances in the child&#8217;s developmental process. Acquired dyslexia arises suddenly, independent of developmental processes, usually as a result of brain damage.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Considering the disturbed functions underlying the syndrome in question, one speaks of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>dyslexia of the visual type<\/strong>, resulting from disorders of visual perception, visual memory, visual-motor coordination,<\/li>\n<li><strong>auditory dyslexia<\/strong>, resulting from impaired auditory perception, auditory memory, language functions,<\/li>\n<li><strong>integrative dyslexia<\/strong>, caused by inappropriate cooperation of properly developed perceptual-motor functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When considering specific learning difficulties in terms of brain activity, a distinction is made between linguistic and perceptual dyslexia. Linguistic dyslexia occurs when the activity of the left cerebral hemisphere dominates in a child learning to read, which should occur later in life when reading skills are already mastered. Perceptual dyslexia is diagnosed when the right cerebral hemisphere activity dominates in a child who has mastered reading, appropriate during the earlier developmental phase &#8211; the acquisition of reading skills.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Sources:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Bogdanowicz M., O dysleksji, czyli specyficznych trudno\u015bciach w czytaniu i pisaniu.
